Jailhouse Merchandise
Expia introduced the Jailhouse brand to develop and establish workplace environments that can be used to offer risk assessed prisoners the opportunity to gain qualifications whist creating employment opportunities for people in our local communities. We not only offer training and skills development through our Café and Diner but also invest in the prison workshops where prisoners can learn new skills in carpentry, stone carving, metal work, and repairing and recycling. With our program prisoners have the opportunity to learn and develop skills. The end products are sold through Expia with all income going back into the charity to fund the program and activities. There is a wide range of products that are available for sale at the Café and include Portland Stone products such as house names and numbers, clocks, sundials, bird tables and prisoner designed wood crafts like tables, bowls, hanging baskets, wooden pots, garden accessories, bird and bug boxes, and recycled bicycles. We also have art and pictures from local artists for sale.
